ONLINE SOCIETY SYSTEM
- FlyingStart is offered FREE to university Enterprise Societies to promote Enterprise and Entrepreneurship within their University. The system will allow you to provide your own website; a system to recruit and network with members and create blogs and forums and upload events and documents to keep members/supporters informed.
- Within the system you'll gain access to a comprehensive database of investment/loan funds available in the UK; access to experts; a mentoring system; university staff; a network of 13,000+ students/graduates already registered.
- FlyingStart is wholly customised for your society with your university logo and a content management system allowing each society complete control over the content, communications and presentation.
FUNDING FOR ENTERPRISE ACTIVITY
- Funding is available from FlyingStart to spend to support enterprise in your university and grow your society, through workshops and other activity.
- FlyingStart Workshops are generally half to full day, based around generating a business idea and/or gaining practical business start-up knowledge.
LIMITED OFFER FOR GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK!
- Apply for funding from FlyingStart to fuel your ingenuity and to represent the UK in the Global Innovation Tournament as a part of Global Entrepreneurship Week!
- The teams are given a global problem to solve on 4th November 2009 and two weeks to develop a solution by 18th November via a YouTube video submission.
ACCESS TO NATIONAL PROGRAMMES AND START-UP FUNDS
- National FlyingStart Programmes have the sole aim of having graduates trading or growing businesses with 12 months. The Programme, with up to 30 participants, provides the one-to-one mentoring, support and training needed to turn every idea into a business. It starts with a 3 day residential followed by 12 months support and is free. The Flying Start website (below) has all the details on upcoming Programmes.
- Each Enterprise Society will be offered places on all national and regional programmes.
- Graduate Entrepreneur Fund: we are currently putting together a Fund to support ideas and businesses that flow from the Enterprise Society activity and FlyingStart. Availability and access will be automatically be channelled through the FlyingStart Online system and the individual Societies.
