But first, some numbers:

Winning Lookalike Ad Set Numbers

This is about as passive as income gets in 2018.

We literally login to our Facebook Ads Manager, check the ROAS (return on ad spend) and if it’s above 3x our spend, we increase the budget slightly. If it’s below 3 ROAS, we decrease the budget slightly.

It’s takes 10 seconds out of our day and this thing keeps performing.

The strategy we’ve used for this ad set is the LOOKALIKE strategy…

Lookalikes are the most powerful type of ad set you can create. 

And there are three primary ad sets:

  1. Targeting Ad Sets
  2. Retargeting Ad Sets
  3. Lookalike Ad Sets

So what exactly is our lookalike strategy?

Our lookalike strategy revolves around our initial custom audiences – focusing on Add to Carts, and Purchases.

We create multiple custom audiences, using “audience manager” or analytics.

We explained all of this in our Custom Audience Post here.

The audiences will target people who had an Add to Cart or people who had a Purchase within 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 & 90 days respectively.

So there are 6 audiences for both “Add to Carts” and “Purchases” totaling 12 custom audiences. 

Once any of our products achieves 500 add to carts, meaning a product has literally been added to 500 customer shopping carts, we then create our lookalike audience based on the already created Add to Cart audience.

When a product reaches 300 purchases, similarly we then create our Lookalike audience based on the already created “Purchase” custom audience.

Here’s how to do it:

Creating a Lookalike Audience within Facebook Ads Manager

It’s very simple to create a lookalike audience from any existing audience within your Facebook Ads Manager.

  • From within ads manager, click -> “Audiences”
  • Now select any audience that meets our lookalike criteria
  • Once an audience is selected, click -> “Actions” tab
  • Select “Create Lookalike”
  • You immediately be prompted to select a location for this new audience.
  • Choose the same location you targeted as the ad you’re creating a lookalike for.
  • Underneath this you’ll be asked to define the # of audiences & audience size.
  • Select 1 audience & Move the dial underneath to the 1, so it reads 0-1%
  • Click -> “Create Audience”

Boom!

You’ve just created your first lookalike audience.

By following this Lookalike Facebook Advertising Strategy you should have no problem scaling your online business to $100’s of dollars per day in ad spend and $1,000’s of dollars per day in passive income.
