We appreciate you joining us!
Each month we build a new business from Scratch in 30 days – The Bizathon Challenge!
This month we’re featuring a Membership Website.
Not only can you follow along as we build this business from the ground up, you can also become a founding member for just $1!
So far we’ve created an entire membership website; with accompanying sales funnel, submitted our first solo ad order as well as created our first Facebook Retargeting Ads.
In our last session, we covered How to Create & Launch Your First 3 Facebook Retargeting Ads
And Today, Day 22 of the #Bizathon challenge, we’re creating and launching our first Facebook TARGETING Ad campaigns.
The point of running both retargeting and targeting ads is to not only keep the advertisements hyper-focused but to keep advertising costs down.
We’re going to spend on Targeting to convert initial visitors to leads. Then we rely on the Retargeting backend ads already in place to convert our leads into paying members.
These are advanced concepts that most marketers especially beginners completely ignore.
With Retargeting we’re focusing on a very specific group of people who already took a certain action with our website and products.
However, with Targeting, we’re able to target a much broader audience.
Follow along with Rito as he walks you through the process of creating your first Facebook Targeting ads in the video below:
How to Create Your First Successful Facebook Targeting Ad:
If you’ve been following along for the past three weeks, you’ve likely already ran your first Retargeting ads.
Before we create and launch our first Targeting Ads, let’s take a quick look at our existing campaigns.
Open your current campaigns to view active ads and monitor performance:
- Select “Ad Manager”
- Under Filters, click “Delivery”
- Now click “Active”
You may notice Retargeting traffic is small. This is because of the very specific parameters set.
Which is why today, we are going to build larger audiences with broader targeting techniques.
Let’s jump right into creating your first Targeting Ad…
Create Your First Facebook Targeting Ad
Start by clicking “Create Ad” in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Underneath “What’s Your Marketing Objective” select “Conversions.” We’re choosing conversions because our Facebook Targeting Ad will be pointing to an optin page.
Name your page – we named ours “DOer Targeting.”
On the following page, under where it says “conversion” select “Lead.” Our tracking pixels should already be installed because of the other ads we’ve created.
For this particular ad we’re going to be focusing specifically on the U.S.
Now set the specific age parameter to 25 to 60
Choose “English” -> Digital Marketing since we’re targeting a broader audience.
At this point we are going to uncheck “Expand Interests When It May Increase Conversions At A Low Cost Per Conversion.”
- Continue on to where it says “Placements” and click “Edit Placements.”
- Remove /uncheck Instagram, Audience Network & Messenger.
- Click the Facebook Dropdown Arrow to then remove / uncheck “Instant Articles.”
At this point “Feed” + “Right Column” are the only placements that should be active.
Scroll down to budget. Rito set ours to 400 Rupees which roughly equates to about $6 USD a day.
Click “Continue”
Now under Pages, click your associated Facebook page. In this case, ours is Flying Start Online.
We’re uploading a video ad, so click “single video” and upload the same video we used earlier for our retargeting ads.
Now we’re going to copy your optin page and paste the website URL to the spot under “Links.”
Under this we’re going to need to paste our Headline and Text body to accompany the video as well.
Simply copy one of your autoresponder emails attempting to achieve the same goal as the ad. You can see the text we used in the ad image above.
Be sure to adjust your email copy accordingly. And remember to ALWAYS preview you ads prior to launching.
Add any emojis your want in the copy, adjust the deadline and then click “Confirm.”
Boom! Your first Facebook Targeting Ad is created.
Create Your Emerging Markets Ad
Before we finish today, let’s quickly go over how to duplicate your ads in order to target emerging markets too.
Emerging markets are smaller countries and territories that are slowly beginning to present themselves as developed markets but don’t quite meet the standard.
We will always just duplicate our existing ads and change the country or countries we are targeting to “Emerging Markets”
- Go to “Ad Sets” and locate your ad of choice.
- Click “Duplicate” just underneath the ad title.
- Change Ad Set Name to “Emerging Markets”
- And finally, select “Emerging Markets” as the geographical location to target
- Click “Save” -> “Continue”
Be sure to regularly check on both your Targeting and Retargeting ad performance. Ads that are performing should remain active, and those that are not, should be paused and / or deleted.
Only 8 more days to go…
That’s a wrap for Day 22 – Well done!
