Today we’re going to be taking a closer look at International Facebook Ads.
A particular campaign of ours has generated more than $17k at a great profit margin – in a short period of time.
And it wasn’t even seen in the United States.
That’s right, we have cracked the international traffic code and today’s post shows you how.
Enjoy the video as Rito reveals how to scale International Facebook Ads:
International scaling can be tricky as there’s much contradictory information floating around the interwebz.
But in order for any Facebook Campaign to be successful, you first need a winning product.
And we’ve already covered how to find winning products here.
Once you’ve scaled your first products/campaigns in the United States specifically, then and only then should you begin running and scaling international Facebook ads campaigns.
We actually didn’t begin scaling internationally until our Common Panda store hit $50k in sales. By that point we had already identified multiple winning products and ad sets.
Test The Tier 1 Countries
As you dive into your international Facebook Ads campaigns, you’ll want to focus on Tier 1 countries.
Tier 1 countries are the developed countries, with large populations of English speakers, abundant internet access and citizens who like to shop online.
Here are the Tier 1 International Countries:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- New Zealand
- Australia
Now some products convert in certain countries and not at all in others.
It’s good to focus on one country per ad set in order to determine what works and what doesn’t.
Test, test, test.
Install Currency Converter App
The first thing you’ll need to do for your Shopify store before you begin advertising internationally is install a currency converter app.
A currency converter app, once installed on your Shopify store, automatically changes the price of your items to match the local currency of your store visitors based on their ip address.
We use the Best Currency Converter app on Common Panda.
Keep in mind that your actual checkout process will display the default currency of your Shopify store.
In our case that’s USD but for you it may be different.
Using AliExpress To Drop Ship Internationally
Whenever you’re selecting products from AliExpress to promote on your own website, be sure to choose products that have free shipping, with e-Packet available within the countries you’re advertising to.
Be sure to always open the product page within AliExpress to check the shipping options with the lowest cost and quickest estimated delivery times.
Here’s a quick refresher on how to find top selling products on AliExpress:
- Click “Best Selling” from the homepage. This will reveal two tabs – ‘Hot Products’ & ‘Weekly Bestselling.’
- Choose eiither tab as they’ll both reveal top selling products in real-time.
- Now scroll through making note of URLs to popular products.
Strategy To Scale International Facebook Ads
Once you’ve identified your existing best performing aka winning ad sets from your United States campaigns, all you need to do is select those particular ad sets, duplicate them, and then create a new campaign for each of the other tier 1 international countries.
When we test new ad sets, we always begin with a $5 daily budget for each.
The other big thing to be mindful of when you’re setting up your international campaigns is the audience size of each.
You’ll want to add enough targeted interests to ensure the estimated audience size is between 100,000 – 1Million.
After you’ve identified your winning international ad sets, you can move on to the following:
