Help! I Don’t Have Money For Dropshipping (Bizathon5 Episode 29)

One of, if not the most frequently mentioned question left on our YouTube channel is…

“What If I Don’t Have Money?” 

We find this question annoying, and this post may appear as a rant because of it.

None the less, it will be a rant with insight and actionable tips sprinkled in.

If you’re on a budget, this could very well be the most important post you read.

Odds are, you’ve come across this post via your phone or computer and thanks to the internet.

You’re already considered middle to upper class by a significant portion of the world’s population. 

So, if you’re still making excuses like, “I don’t have money for dropshipping,” you’re lying to yourself.

We’re going to make the assumption that because you’re reading this post and likely just watched the above video, you’re genuinely interested in launching and growing a successful Shopify Dropshipping business.

In a previous post we estimated that it would cost you about $779 to successfully start your store.

The majority of the investment would be $500 going toward your initial Facebook ads which will test/reveal winning products and ad sets, which you’ll then scale.

If you want to think outside the box, and scrap the initial Facebook investment, you can actually begin for as little as $79.

First things first…

Mindset

The most valuable asset you have now or when you’re a wealthy internet marketer, is your mindset.

Your way of looking at the world, assessing scenarios and your ability to act accordingly.

But in order for your mindset to work for you and not against you, you’ve got to let go of fear.

Lack of Confidence, expectation of failure, and fear of success, are all false expectations appearing real.

Force yourself to recognize that not only are you capable of create, running and scaling a successful online business, you’re worthy of it too. 

Until you let go of fear and doubt, you can invest all the money in the world, but it will likely go wasted and not come to fruition. 

That’s the hard truth.

Train your brain to believe in yourself. Acknowledge that you’re taking the correct steps by watching these videos, reading these posts and ultimately seeking out the information needed to make your dreams come true. 

This is the biggest battle most of us face when we’re just starting out. 

How To Get Initial Funding

If you have $0 in your bank account, but you still have an internet connection, you can make more than enough money to get started online. 

For starters, there’s an ever growing need for VAs (Virtual Assistants) online. 

You can easily sign up for Fiverr, Upwork or even browse Craigslist to find VA opportunities.

Similarly you can use the same services to find people who need basic design, development and marketing work done. 

Better yet, partner with somebody on their own Shopify project, to gain experience as well as some income, so you can eventually start your own store. 

Simply sitting on your ass, waiting for a handout is not going to teach you anything and it is definitely not going to pay you. 

You’ve got to take initiative and really want this. 

Rito and I both come from humble beginning. When Rito started he was on a dial-up internet connection. Which means that the smallest of tasks, like a Google search took several minutes to complete. It was daunting to say the least.

I started my marketing career living in my car, using unsecured wifi from coffee shops and neighborhoods to build and market my first websites.

Guess what?

We both persevered and found ways to make it work. 

You can and will do the same, so long as your adjust your mindset for success!

Outside The Box Idea #1 – Work With Friends

Pick three or four of your friends and watch every video from;

• Bizathon5

This way you have four minds, and four different perspectives focusing on the same project. 

You’ll find that not only will ideas become more readily available, but the ability and willingness to take action will quickly become second nature.

Hold each other accountable, and build on the energy each of you brings to the table.

My very first projects that actually made real money, came when I was masterminding with three friends.

We were broke college kids and split up our initial budgets in order to make things happen.

And we never looked back.

Each of us has stuck with it for more than a decade and a couple of us have made MILLIONS online. 

You can do something similar when creating your first dropshipping business!

Suddenly that initial $800 investment is only a couple hundred bucks between each of you. 

Not too mention, when you invest that $800 and follow our Bizathons, you can quickly turn that $800 into $8,000 or more. 

Outside The Box Idea #2 – Post In FB Groups

Before you share any of your products on Facebook pages or within groups, be sure to contact the admin of the page of group first to get permission. You don’t want bad publicity and you don’t want to get banned.

Tell them you have a product, and you will offer them a commission for any sales generated.

You can track the sales via a custom discount link specific for that brands followers.

Outside The Box Idea #3 – Contact Influencers

This is one we covered here.

In a nutshell, you’ll contacting influencers with following up to about 100k followers.

This works well with Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

Offer the page owner a discount link and a commission for any sales generated.

Create the offer and text copy for them, so all they have to do is post the product on their page for 24hours at a time. 

These methods won’t cost you anything and can get your brand exposed to the masses.
